Welcome.
Thank you for visiting my blog. It chronicles my experiences in Uganda from 2007-2009, as I researched the role of the arts in peace building in northern Uganda.
I have since graduated from the University of Tennessee's College Scholars Program and am currently living and working in Gulu, Northern Uganda as the Communications Officer for the Justice and Reconciliation Project (JRP). You can check out our website at http://www.justiceandreconciliation.com, or follow us on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/JRP_Uganda.
I am also the Exchange Coordinator for Music for Peace (MfP). In May, I traveled with a delegation of northern artistes to Freetown, Sierra Leone for our first cultural and artistic exchange. We were hosted by Freetong Players International. For more information on MfP, visit our website at http://musicforpeace.wordpress.com. You can also listen to our hit collaborative song, "One Africa" on YouTube and view photos from our trip.
To view my thesis, recently published in UT's new Pursuit journal, visit http://trace.tennessee.edu/pursuit/vol1/iss1/9/ or view my website http://www.lindsaymcclain.com. My website also contains an excerpt of my book, Bed ki Gen: Northern Uganda's Creative Approaches to Peace and Healing.

Lastly, I'm happy to leave you with this photo of my family's recent First Visit to Uganda. They had a wonderful time meeting with all of the people they'd been reading of for years.
